Goodbye, Go Ape!

Go Ape was a job that came into my life in March and little did I know what I was getting myself in for (in the best way possible!). Last weekend, I handed my resignation in, and as I don't need to give any notice, my last shift was on Sunday. I've had lots of questions about me leaving, so I thought I'd round up my time there and answer them.

If you watch my weekly vlogs, you'd have been following me every step of the way. I originally got the role for some extra cash to pay for a big trip to America I went on in June. I told myself  "it's just part time, you can quit after the trip!" but I ended up loving it and I stayed and did a whole season. (much longer than I intended!)

My time at Go Ape was split between two roles. Sometimes I was an Instructor and sometimes an Activity Administrator. When I first started, I was trained on the 'cabin' where I organised paperwork, disclaimers and supported the Duty/Deputy Manager. To this day, it is still my favourite role, but I loved having the variety. When I was training on the cabin, my manager was eager to also get me trained up as an Instructor, despite how apprehensive I was about climbing zip wires! After lots of practice though, I was whizzing up them. It's honestly amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it. I was given my safety brief to learn, and after memorising them over and over, I passed first time and quickly became an Instructor too.

After a month of walking around the forest, carrying harnesses and climbing zip wires, my fitness was quickly put to the test and I lost over a stone in weight without even thinking about it! Perfect timing for the summer because I finally felt confident in a bikini for the first time in years.

As well as feeling good about myself, I met the most amazing people. We quickly felt like a big family and every time someone new arrived, it was exciting and we'd love welcoming them in. Compared to my office job, I was working with everyone the same age as me, so we had so much in common and everyone had a similar sense of humor. We arranged socials outside of work; my favourites being a day down Bournemouth beach, the New Forest Aqua Park and having a BBQ and camping at our Go Ape site. I've met some truly amazing people and I know we'll remain good friends and still see each other.

Sadly, all good things have to come to an end and I just couldn't juggle three jobs anymore. Like with all jobs, it had many highs but also a few lows, and I finally felt like I was ready to hang up my harness. I've been given more hours at my office and have left it open with Go Ape to contact me again next year, just in case I'm around (or need to book a big trip again, haha!).

Go Ape gave me confidence, friendships and taught me that getting out of your comfort zone is the best thing you'll ever do. I'm rounding this post up with some of my favourite photos, so cheers guys for all the banter and love (even when you hid spiders and dragonflies in my mugs ;) hahah). Lots of love, B x

ps. If you've ever considered working for Go Ape and don't have ANY experience (like me), just do it. You won't regret it.

"The Go Ape Spirit. What is it? Who's got it? The answer is simple. It's the desire to live life adventurously. And you've got it. You might not know it yet, but it's there. And with any luck, we'll help you find it."

It's become a new habit of mine to stop by the Oliver Bonas store at Waterloo Station every time I visit London. I am obsessed with the brand, it screams class and sophistication, and obviously being the very classy gal that I am, I love shopping there. I just wish they'd bring a store to Bournemouth!

I've been on the hunt for a new purse for a while. I've got a gorgeous little Michael Kors coin purse which I've used most of the summer, but I wanted something which would hold more of my cards. Ya know, Clubcard and Boots points are obviously a priority in my life. ;D Lucky for me, Oliver Bonas did not disappoint!

At a bargain £25, I almost ran to the till to buy this I was so excited. It has 3 Note compartments, 12 Credit card holders, 1 Zip compartment and 1 ID holder. It might not be leather but it looks and feels like it which I love. It's absolutely perfect for me and I even pop my iPhone 6 in the notes section if I'm running to the shops and don't need/want my handbag.

ps. Oliver Bonas do student discount if you're a student too!

Meet My Best Friend Megan ♡

Megan has been my friend for almost 5 years. When I began college not really knowing anyone, I started my YouTube channel which quickly became the best thing I did in my first year however, when lots of people started finding out, I was petrified of being bullied and no one understanding, until I met Megan. She is a ray of sunshine and I really value her and our friendship. We never get soppy about each other, but I'm so glad she's stuck around and continues time after time to listen to me ramble about my love life and dramas. I admire her hard work, positivity and patience and can't wait for many more memories. Thank you Megan, for everything. (Especially for making this video with me and cooking carbonara after!) Love youuuu, B xx

Cosmo Blog Awards!

It's that time of year again, Cosmopolitan Blog Awards! Despite being half way through the year, 2015 has been all about getting out of my comfort zone and pushing myself more. Since starting Weekly Vlogs in February, I have had an extremely overwhelming amount of love, support and messages. I've been recognised by other YouTubers, worked with some great brands and even signed with a management agency this year.

I've had some great opportunities and being shortlisted for a Cosmo Award would be the absolute icing on the cake! Therefore, I'd really appreciate (and love) if you wouldn't mind taking two minutes to vote for me in the catergory:

Use my YouTube URL to make it easier. Thank you in advance for voting for me, please tweet me if you do! Mwaaahh.
