Happy 21st Birthday To Me! xo

I'm officially 21! *blows out candles* I still can't quite believe I've finally reached the big two one. The 'special' birthday. The one you really go to town with. I'm excited to have turned 21 yesterday, it's a pretty cool age and I plan on making the year as good as I can however, I really did not go to town. At all.

In fact, I saw some family in the morning, hung out with my best friend Megan in the afternoon (Buck's Fizz in the hot tub was ideal!), and had dinner (steak, specifically) at a nice restaurant by the beach with my dad, his girlfriend and my brother. Then on Saturday, I'm heading up to London with two of my girlfriends, Dionne & Megan, for a day of shopping, lunch and of course, stopping by Laduree to get my favourite macaroons!

It's been an odd couple of months for me, I didn't predict I'd be spending my twenty first birthday like I did. I hoped I'd be able to organise a party with my blogging friends, or a spa day, or something 'big' but actually, now it's finally over, I'm glad it was just a small one. It highlights to me what's really important in life and quite frankly, that's my health, happiness and people around me.

21 is still so young and I have so much to come, which excites me! But yesterday, it really did feel an added bit special in comparison to other ages I've turned. I'll be back in a few days for a birthday haul and more chit chat but until then, cheers to me getting older!

ps. I shared some more photos over on instagram yesterday so be sure to follow me over there -> brogantatexo ;)

21st Birthday Beauty Wishlist

Haven't you heard? I'm turning the big TWO ONE on the 24th March and I'm a little bit way too excited. I'm the girl who'll countdown and tell you all about their birthday a month before...and maybe even month after too. Which is why today, I wanted to share all the things I'm lusting for beauty wise! If I'm kindly gifted any money or vouchers, I'm going to put 95% aside for my America trip and maybe treat myself to a few of these things too.

1 / Urban Decay Sin Eyeshadow
I first discovered this in my Urban Decay Naked Palette years ago. I hit pan at the end of last year and was gutted because I've never liked an eyeshadow so much! I've used MACS Naked Lunch as a similar shade however, it's just not the same. I don't need another Naked Palette obviously, so would love to by this single shadow and have as a stable everyday for my make up bag.

2 / Urban Decay Naked Lipstick
I recently used this in my Everyday Makeup Routine as it's such an easy colour to throw on daily. It's the classic 'your lips but better' and matches me so well, especially as I've got super pale skin and auburn coloured hair. I've been using my tiny sample from my Sephora Favourites kit I got for christmas from my friend Dionne which was a perfect present because I never would have discovered this otherwise.

3 / Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Have you ever seen so much hype over a new mascara?! I'm pretty sure most people picked up a sample with Elle Magazine last month, me included. I've been gifted They're Real every previous birthday because I love it so much however, since using Roller Lash I think I prefer it and am desperate to get a full size now! It gives my lashes such a beautiful curled fluttery look, I'm in love.

4 / Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Candle
At £40 this is most definitely a luxury candle. I got this for my friends 21st recently and she loved it. Jo Malone package all their products in the most beautiful wrapping and boxes, it feels like such a lovely treat. This is one of their classic popular fragrances and rightly so, because it makes a bedroom smell so fresh without being too girly or overpowering. Also, I've got to blow a candle out on my birthday, right? ;D

5 / Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick Mademoiselle
My favourite lipstick is Chanel's Bel Ami which they recently discontinued to make way for a bunch of lovely new colours. I'm still mourning over saying goodbye to my beloved favourite lipstick and would love to replace with something new. I know I love the formula of the rouge coco shine lip colours and have a sneaky eye on Mademoiselle which looks like a super wearable everyday colour however, I'm also loving their new pink shade called Roussy too.

6 / Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water
I love my MAC Fix+ but I'm wanting to expand and try something new. Smashbox are really well known for their photo finish primers, so when I heard about this new water version, I instantly added to my wishlist. At £20, it looks similar to Fix+ so I'm pretty intrigued to compare it.

Spring Beach Walks | Avon Beach, Friars Cliff

I live in an absolutely beautiful part of the UK. In Bournemouth and Poole, we have some of the nicest beaches. If you want pure white sands you can head towards Sandbanks, and for summer days sunbathing I love sleeping at my Beach Hut at Hengistbury Head. However, since moving to my dads house he lives within walking distance of Friars Cliff at Avon Beach which is full of a few day huts, pebbles and an easy dog walking route. Charlie absolutely adores it, he runs for miles across the wet sand and follows the waves going in and out. It's the perfect location for winter and spring walks, you can even see the Isle Of Wight in the distance!

Collection Field Day SS15

Well well well, Collection have done it again. It was only last week that I reviewed their gorgeous new Eyes Uncovered Palettes and now they're spoiling us with these beautiful spring/summer products!

This beautiful limited edition range brings you inspiration from spring meadows overflowing with wild daisies. Think soft pastel tones mixed with joyful brights; this fun living, floral inspired range with update your look and instantly make you feel more spring-like without breaking the bank! Collection are a brand I trust and love, so I was super excited to get my mitts on these new releases and they definitely didn't disappoint.

Field Day Nail Polishes - £1.99 each*
Available in three on trend shades, Heather, Peony and Peach Blossom, these are ideal for a pop of colour. I've been using and wearing Heather the most at the moment, a gorgeous brown/purpley shade. It has been easing the transition from winter to spring, especialy being used to dark colours on my nails, to now wearing more lighter and brighter shades. For the price, you really can't go wrong with giving these a go. I got about 3/4 days wear out of mine before they started to chip and you only needed two coats. Pretty little bottles and easy to apply brushes too.

Field Day Lipsticks - £2.99 each*
These lipsticks come in three pink shades, Pink Rose (matte), Tulip (matte) and Fuchsia (gloss). My current favourite is Fuchsia, it almost looks more red and is so buildable if you want to make it stronger and take it from day to night. I don't think the matte shades suit me personally however, I know matte lips are set to be a big trend for this season. As these are so affordable, it's a great opportunity to try the trend for yourself!

Field Day Eyeshadow Pencils - £3.19 each*
I love using pencils as they're a super easy way to work with more colour. These shimmering shadows can be used all over the lid, as a highlighter in the corners of the eye, or brow bone for a more defined look. I've also tried them on my waterline and under the eye too. I'm not a massive fan of the green 'Summer Meadow' as I have green eyes myself however, Golden Sun is so pretty and I can imagine it looking lovely with a tan in summer paired with a bronzed shadow.

These will be available in Superdrug from tomorrow, March 11th and in Boots March 18th. They're super affordable and a great way to inject some new colours into your makeup again!

Gorilla Perfume Volume 3 | Lush Cosmetics

Last year, I worked at the head offices for Lush Cosmetics before moving on to a part time job elsewhere. Over the course of a year however (and between two different departments!) Lush gave me lots of intense training ranging from skincare, haircare, bodycare and finally, perfume. In October, I even visited their pop-up perfume shop and exhibition they held in London, before they went on to open their first Gorilla perfume shop in Islington. During the exhibition, I got the chance to smell each new scent they were launching, along with the wonderful stories behind them! So it was an wonderful surprise to have these three come through my door from Volume 3, Death, Decay and Renewal. All my Lush memories instantly came flooding back! I have even had the opportunity to meet both Mark Constantine OBE (Co-founder and Managing Director) and his son Simon Constantine last year, the creators behind these perfumes, so I couldn't pass on sharing today. (I last saw Simon in his secret little lab above the original shop in Poole working away on new products!!)

I'm going to be 100% honest with you though. I'm a Chanel perfume kinda girl. I love Coco Mademoiselle and during my time at Lush, I never found a perfume that worked for me for everyday. What I did notice however was that they always smelt so different on the skin, so my advise is that if you go in store and give some a sniff, try directly on your hand or arm, you might be surprised.

Death & Decay // £10 Solid or £30 for 30ml*
The first thing I asked was "why have they named a perfume with the word Death in?!"
and to be honest, I'm still not sure on the name. Can you imagine, "Oooh Brogan, what are you wearing?" "Thanks, it's Death & Decay...". Name aside it's a gentle floral fragrance with soft lily heart notes accompanied by indole, which adds a pungent, narcotic headiness. The lily resembles the thin line between the fullness of beauty and its inevitable decay. I can't say I like this personally however, lots of my old colleagues loved it so you might too. Mark & Simon were sadly forced to face the mortality of loved one, which gave Mark the inspiration to create a perfume that would be "surprisingly pleasant when you're expecting something awful", the message is one of meditation, acceptance and optimism.

All Good Things // £10 solid, £20 for 10ml or £40 for 30ml*
This theme is so clever how each perfume is a creative expression for elements and events in the creators lives. Both bitter and sweet, this one is my favourite of the three. It almost reminds me of Lord Of Misrule bath bomb (one of my favourites from Halloween!) as they share the same black pepper ingredient. Described as a 'boozy stumble down a basement staircase in a cloud of candyfloss' this one really isn't like anything I've smelt before. The story behind this is simply about people coming and going in our lives, when they must move on and leave us the sadness of the parting of the way is tempered as doors open to new possibilities, opportunities and fresh ideas in their absence. I like that.

Kerbside Violet // £9 Soild, £18 for 10ml or £26 for 30ml*
"The scent of a violet is transitory, like a puff of sweet perfume you lean in for another whiff, and then it's gone..." I'm torn on this one, it's a completely unique floral fragrance which I actually don't mind on my skin, but it's the type of fragrance I'd wear on the odd occassion. What I can say however is that my tiny tester on my hand lasted ages, so no need to worry about the staying power with this one! You can confidently wear all day and a bottle will last you ages. Apparently, Mark often spots violets growing through cracks in pavements and kerbs and stops to smell them. Kerbside Violet is a reminder to look out for the tiny revolution growing through the cracks of a concrete jungle near you. I like this idea that we should never forget the little things in life.

As I'm sure you know, Lush don't test any of their products on animals and sell all their perfumes in ml bottles or solid versions. The solids are a nice handbag friendly size which you never have to worry about smashing either! Death & Decay, All Good Things and Kerbside Violet are now availbale in shops nationwide and online.

My Everday Make Up Routine 2015 ♡

I finally got round to re-doing an updated makeup routine for my channel. I'm not very experimental with my everyday look and like to keep it natural and easy. The Balm Hot Mama blush is my new favourite and I'm sure it's a close dupe for Nars' Orgasm! I've also fallen in love with Zoeva Brushes, they're so easy to use, wash and work with, I would buy them all day any day and truly believe they are worth the price. I've also been obsessed with 'my lips but better' colours and in particular, this Urban Decay one called Naked. Finally, lashes have been my favourite part of my routine, especially since trailing the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara which is absolutely brilliant. I can't wait to get my hands on a full sized version!

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palettes

I got so excited when these came through my door that I literally didn't know which one to play with first. Collection have absolutely nailed it with these three gorgeous new palettes available in stores now! Inspired by the bold, smokey looks seen on the S/S15 Catwalk shows, they've created these handbag friendly palettes so we can create the same looks for less. There's something for everyone and to be honest, I can't pick a favourite I like them all so much!

Nude Grey  - £3.99*
I really like the fact theres a black shade in this one because I often need it to set my liquid eyeliner. This palette has a more cool undertone for a defined and sultry evening look. The silver shimmer in the middle dark bronze at the end look so nice together. This is a great palette for anyone starting out with make up too.

Nude  - £3.99*

This one is great for someone who isn't too experimental and just wants an easy everyday look. The lighter shades at the end work great as a highlighter too! You may have also noticed that each palette comes with a little brush but I can't say I particularly like it and have been opting for my eyeshadow brushes instead.

Nude Bronzer  - £3.99*

This palettes allows you to create a warm, sculpted smokey eye and take it from day to evening by adding shimmery bronzed hues. Each palette has six different shade to choose from and I was pleasantly surprised how pigmented they are too. This bronze one is going to be perfect during the summer when I've got a bit of a tan, so pretty!

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palettes are available in Superdrug and Boots now for only £3.99 each. For the price, they're fantastic quality and fit perfectly in my make up bag. I'm really impressed!
