John Frieda Frizz-Ease Range

Over the past year, I've realised how much I love the John Frieda Frizz-Ease range. I don't own all the products (that would be silly!), but I have four favourites which stand out to me. The range is reasonably priced and everything works wonders. I have naturally curly hair but I often like to have it straight too. These are things that help both styles for me. If you're interested in any of these, I spotted that they are 3 for £10 in boots at the moment (great deal!) but I'll list the individual prices and link to too.

My most recent purchase but something I don't dry my hair without now! Smells lovely and I feel it actually works to keep my hair protected when using heat, especially as I always straighten with GHD's if I want my hair straight. It leaves my hair soft and is suitable for straight and curly hair, bonus!

The first Frizz-Ease product I owned and one I've re-purchased over and over again. Got to thank my mum because she discovered this for her curly hair too and we love it (always pinching each others!) I apply to wet hair and scrunch through to help create and lock my curls. I can brush it out and it doesn't leave my hair looking greasy or too sticky.

The best hair spray I've used! Again, I've re-purchased this lots and I love it! It works wonders, I mainly use it when I have straight hair. Again, smells lovely and stop my hair from frizzing!

I've literally just run out of this! It's a semi-permanent spray to help keep hair straight. As I have naturally curly hair, drying and straightening takes FOREVER and then it feels like a waste when it curls up again. This is perfect for solving that issue! I wouldn't say by day 3 my hair is still perfectly straight, as I would obviously wash it but it does work for day one and two!

As you can see, I have a lot of love for the John Frieda range, mainly because the products are such wonderful quality but also because they cater for both my straight and curly hair. I have and will continue to buy from the range and recommend it to anyone! I now really want to try the shampoo and conditioner. Have you tried any from this range?

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

I was having that dilemma where my foundations didn't match my tanned face, were all too thick or too heavy coverage and I needed something light-weight and more suitable for the summer. I had been eyeing a BB cream and after trying the Garnier one and being completely disappointed, I knew another brand would release something similar. I tried a sample of this, the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, from their Facebook page which came quickly through my door in the shade Light.

I absolutely love it that I went out and bought it straight away! The shade matched perfectly and gave me a light coverage without feeling too heavy, sticky, orangey... etc. I've tried applying with my fingers and a Sigma F80 foundation brush and was happy with both results.

'Instant fresh-faced glow without looking all made up' uses a gel-based formula to enhance skin'. These are the eight benefits it claims:

1. Natural Glow
2. Compliments skin-tone
3. SPF30 UV Protection
4. Hydrates all day
5. Blurs imperfections
6. Oil-free, non greasy
7. Looks visibly smooth
8. Feels fresh

I have to admit, it does do ALL of these things. I absolutely love that it has SPF 30, it's the highest factor I've come across in a BB cream within this price too. I managed to find it for £6 in ASDA and can honestly say I wouldn't be using anything else over the summer and for my holiday to Turkey. It's perfect for setting with Rimmel Stay Matte powder too. Can't fault it!

Birmingham | Pictures, Vlog & Haul ♥

Hollaaaa! Firstly, THANK YOU! I just hit 500 GFC followers, how amazing?! Such a mile stone and I will be sure to arrange a giveaway soon as I wasn't expecting to hit it as soon as I did! Anyway, I'm back and after a very eventful good weekend in Birmingham, I'm still so tired but I thought I would share some pictures and the vlog from the trip! It cost me £200 and over 6 hours on a train in total, but it was so worth it and I absolutely loved meeting the girls. I feel I can finally call them my friends. It's amazing how we all share the same hobby/likes etc, and we had finally met up. We also meet some wonderful subscribers, which was so weird for me too!
The weekend went so quickly that we are already talking about meeting again. Next time, we'll probably venture to London (I'm looking at you Holly, Lucy and Sabrina to come and join us!)
Anyway, here is a cheeky little vlog...

We ventured into a Malibu tent and got free drinks and Model's own make up kits, met our subscribers down by the Bull, were filmed by a channel called ChantTV, shopped too much and ate lots of Nandos! Here's my haul from the weekend too, if you fancy seeing what I bought ;)

Finally, I just want to end by saying a big thank you to everyone that came out but mainly to Becca, Dionne, Cole and Hannah. You girls are the most down-to-earth people and I can't wait to see you all soon. Thank you for making the trip a right blast!

My Beach Hut & *imaginary* Aussie Party #AussieSummerSizzle‬

I am fully aware that our British Summer has nearly been ruined by days of heavy rain but I wanted to tell you about my beach hut and how I would host an Aussie Party! You know those Friday nights after a long week of work/uni/school? It's a beautiful summers day, and the sun doesn't disappear until 8pm? Well, this is where I usually am!

For the past 5 years, my family have owned this little Beach Hut. There are over 300 along a strip of land, they are a little famous and well known for being one of two places you can legally sleep on the beach in the UK. In summary, it has an upstairs which can sleep 6 comfortably, a gas cooker, running hot and cold water and solar power. The only way to access these beach huts is by boat (there's a cute ferry which runs) or a 20 minute walk.

Anyway, if the weather was like the sunset picture above (I took this in April time!), I would be hosting a rather cool Aussie Themed Party.  Here's what I would do:

Dig out my surf boards from underneath and stand them upright in the sand!
Download the Abercrombie song track list and have it blasting from our speakers.
Bake lots of cupcakes and have a BBQ going.
Pimms! A big jug of it obviously.
Run some Union Jack bunting along the outside in light of the Olympics.
Have plenty of Aussie's Limited Edition Bottles for everyone!
(Probably will be needing Aussie Leave In Conditioner at the beach to use)
It wouldn't be a huge party, a selection of 10 of my girl friends.
Take plenty of pictures!

As I have naturally curly hair, the sea air and salt are great for giving my curls texture and definition. It's the only time in the year I can get away with doing this! I would throw on my long maxi dress (again, only wear this in the summer) and go barefoot in the sand.

This would totally be happening if it was sunny. It still will sometime in August and I'll be sure to post about it then!

What do you think? Sound Good?
What kind of summer parties do you have? :)

£100 ASOS Blogger Challenge

Total: £100

I recently spotted that were doing a competition to win £100 ASOS vouchers and I thought I would give it a go!

I saw this dress a couple of weeks ago and think its absolutely gorgeous. It's such a versatile piece as you can dress it up for night it, throw on a cardigan for a day out shopping or take it on holiday! I absolutely love these Bow Platform shoes and think I'll invest in a pair for myself. They match any outfit and they look comfortable too! Finally, I added a small Croc Black Bar Clutch with contrasting brown and gold and the Pineapple Necklace which definitely puts me in the mood to wear this somewhere abroad.

If you're entering, let me know!

Stylfile S-File

After receiving this in my She Said Beauty Box, I nearly jumped with joy!

Stylfile "with two different abrasive sides, the all new S-file is the two-step nail file that shapes and smoothes the nail. The unique curved shape makes filing quick and easy and the high quality abrasive lasts up to 12 months, meaning nails can be kept beautiful all year long."

The first curved shaped nail file invented by Tom Pellereau, winner of The Apprentice 2011, is ingenious and works wonders.

The shape makes it easy and quick to file your nails as well as creating a beautiful shape. Its sturdy and I love the pink around the edge too!

I had such joy in using this I tried it on my natural and my plastic stick on nails too. It definitely worked better on my natural nails but still did a good job on my fake ones. I have to admit, at first it felt a little out of the 'norm' and awkward, but once you get the hang of it, you can really notice a difference.

The S-File is definitely something I am going to pick up for friends and family (my mum has been eyeing mine up!). At £4.49, I don't think these are too badly priced. It claims to last 12 months so just think how many nail files we go through in a year!

Stylfile have three different styles to this; I am now really keen on getting the 'emergency file' to hang on my keys!

The S-File is available at Boots, Sainsbury's and Amazon.

What do you think? Worth spending the money or just a cool new invention?

Wishlist #1

I've been spending far too much money recently (I work over 8 hours a day now so I deserve it! hehe) but I thought these little 'wishlists' might help control my addiction to shopping. I told Dionne that I think I need to visit shopaholics anonymous...

01. I recently tried on this dress in Republic and although it looks like nothing special, it looked really nice on me. I resisted in case I see anything better in Birmingham next weekend, but I might just pop back.
02. I've been lusting over Nars Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer forever, so the duo is literally perfect! It's a little pricey but I think it might be worth it.
03. Everyone seems to be raving over the Jemma Kidd highlighter and I'm a little bored of using Benefit High Beam everyday so this also goes on my wishlist too.
04. I saw that Holly recently did a review of this Essie polish and after falling in love with Mint Candy Apple, I need would like this one too.
05. Finally, I love my Boots Botanic's Toner (review coming soon!) that I've been using but I would love to see what the Liz Earle one is like in conjunction with my Cleanse & Polish.

Sunday Summary #5

01. If you follow me on Twitter you will most likely know I've had a lonely week without my boyfriend Rich who has jetted off to Tenerife for two weeks (TWO, seriously not even a week has passed yet and I'm missing him lots!) and my friends Megan and Stacey who went to Magaluf! Where am I? Working. 5 days a week. Spending evenings on my own. Making a lot of videos and writing a lot of blog posts.

02. I went shopping. More than once. With all this extra money in my bank account, I just can't help it! I deserve to treat myself and to be fair, I've put lots of it aside as Rich and I are booking a cheeky trip to Turkey for September.

03. I whipped out my smoothie maker and have throughly enjoyed mixing bananas, raspberries, strawberries and fruit juice. It's healthy and fills me up rather than snaking on things like crisps.

04. I had business cards made! The Beauty Closet ones got updated with more links to social network sites etc and I also had my own blog business cards made which I absolutely love. I'm sure you've seen the new header at the top which my website designers did for me, yipee!

05. Other things that happened this week - I tided up my bedroom (and filmed a Room Tour!), made and uploaded five videos (a record for me!), wrapped and sent more Beauty Closet orders, worked every day, spent far too much time lying in my bed with period pains on Saturday and finally, packed and organised my little suitcase for Birmingham next week.

Have a lovely week girls!

Soap & Glory Daily Smooth Body Butter

Have you noticed I lurrveee Soap & Glory recently? It's a brand that strive with quality; their packaging is always so cute and it never lets me down! Also, is it just me that has noticed but their stands for both make up and skin care at Boots are always clean and organised? I enjoy browsing and shopping for their products.

Anyway, I've gone through hundreds a lot of body butters and for some reason, none have stood out to me. I've bought loads of The Body Shop body butters (which never seem to wow me, I don't get the hype!), and used Coco Butter for a while at one point too.

Over my birthday, I was given lots of Soap & Glory products (thank you Dionne & Megan!) and have been trying them all over the last few weeks (expect more Soap & Glory related posts!). However, I noticed I kept reaching for this! After jumping out the shower, this is so easy to use as its in a tube. I hate body butters in tubs as the cream gets under my fake nails (such a girl) but this is squeezzyyyy!

Soap & Glory - 'amazingly-effective dry skin formular body butter lotion with rosehip seed oil and cocoa butter scented with Mist You Madly's beautiful fragrance'.. it does smell a-mazingggg.

It sinks in easily, doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy like others have before and smells so fresh and feminine. I only have the 30ml which came in a gift box set but I will definitely be purchasing the 250ml which  is £8.50 from Boots.

Soap & Glory Lid Stuff What's Nude? Palette

As you can see, this palette gets a lot of love from me! I've had it for a while now and forget how much I love it. For £10 from Soap & Glory, this natural eye shadow palette contains four shades, 1.5g each. The colours are Vanilla (matte), Pink T (matte), Mudhoney (matte) and Aubersheen (metallic).

The white isn't very pigmented, I have used it for a subtle highlight but I much prefer the lightest shade in my Naked Palette. However, it is matte and therefore great for using in the inner corner. The pinky shade is difficult to use, I've never been a fan of pink eyeshadows but if you wash this all over the lid and then blend another colour out, it looks really nice. The brow 'Mudhoney' is my favourite as I use it on my eyebrows every single day! I haven't found a colour that matches me as well as this and I've hit pan now, boo! Finally, the 'Aubersheen' is gorgeous. It almost reminds me of MAC Satin Taupe.

The packaging is really sturdy. The plastic lid hasn't cracked or broken. I've had mine for months and the writing is only just starting to wear. I love the clear lid too as I can see what colours I have. Other brands should start doing this to be honest!

The pigmentation of these aren't quite as good as Urban Decay Naked Palette, but for £2.50 each (baring in mind MAC single eye shadows are £9!), the palette is definitely worth the money. Although it claims '8 hour wear', I do use Urban Decay Primer Potion as I don't believe they last this long. I can throw it in my bag for touch ups or if I'm staying away for one night, I can create a nice look.

Overall, I love this and would recommend to anyone. Really impressed with Soap & Glory's whole make up line, they've done a really good job since launching in October 2011.

Essie Mint Candy Apple

I'm a sucker for anothing turquoise/mint green coloured recently. I've bought bags, shoes and bandeau tops in the colour and now I've finally caved and got the ever so hyped 'Mint Candy Apple' by Essie. As they now sell it in Boots, I was too tempted!

Essie is a brand I have always liked although I find the brush difficult to use and feel you have to get just the right amount of product or it goes all gloopy and weird. Despite that, the colour pay off is amazing. Two coats and it looks like my nails have been done at a salon.

Obviously my natural nails aren't this nice, I'm still using the Boots 200 Clear Nails and love them. This is the same box I've had since January, you can see my full review of them on YouTube here.
