Haul: Lush!

I've already cheekily uploaded a video from my recent trip to Boots and Lush (I'll pop the video below!) but I took these pictures and got really excited as these were the first things I have ever bought from Lush!
Space Girl Bath Ballistic - £1.95
Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar - £2.45

I went for Space Girl as I've used it before and really like the smell. Its very fresh and not 'overpowering'. I also spotted Magic Mushroom, a Limited Edition Bubble Bar re-released for Valentines day! There were only a few left on the tray so I got two! I can definitely see myself getting some more to stock up with though.

I already had a very relaxing bath yesterday using Magic Mushroom, it made my bath a pinky/red colour and left my skin feeling so soft and smelling beautiful! I've been told it's a combination of Lush's Vanillary and Yummy Yummy Yummy (strawberry scent) but I can definitely smell the vanilla.

To be honest, you could break this up and get two or even three baths out of it (which I tried to do) but it gets very messy and my mum just cleaned the bathroom! I've already got my star soap in the corner making a little mess! But its an idea, you could pop it back in the bag.

Overall, really pleased with my new bits from Lush. I obviously need to stock up more so this won't be the last post from Lush! I've really grown to love lush, it took a while but I now see the hype! I'm never having a bath again without my lush products!

Next on my list to try:
Comforter Bubble Bar
Vanilla Fountain Bath Bomb
Dreamtime Bath Melt

Sunday Summary #1

This is my first sunday summary of 2012 and I'm going to try and make it as regular as I possibly can! Anyway, I've had a pretty good past week.

Last Sunday, I went up to London with my mum to visited a Trade Show for The Beauty Closet. It was held at Earls Court and there was plenty to do and see. I interacted with suppliers and spent far too much money on new stock, but it was a really good day. My feet were KILLING me by 4 o'clock! The first two picture are what kept me going through the day - a caramel hot chocolate from Starbucks and a sausage and egg muffin from mcdonald's (screw you diet).

I'm really struggling to make it to college at the moment. As some of you may know, I dropped my business btec that I was studying, leaving me with only two a levels (english literature and photography). Although this is great and I'm much happier, my timetable is really empty and I don't see the point in going in! The third picture is one of me on a day I did make it in, I love wearing my snood recently, its so cosy.

No, that screen shot isn't fake, I did actually get over two million on temple run on thursday!! Whilst I was playing that game though, I had just had a really bad day. I went over to my dads house to spend the evening with him and ended up having a huge row about money (he doesn't pay my mum anything towards child maintenance), and left.

Friday was better, I went to college for two hours and came home to see the pile of dirty clothes and fresh ironing piling up and up. I HAD to do something about it. So I went totally mad and did a HUGE change around in my bedroom. If you are observant in my videos, you will notice that the bed is pushed back, my 'beauty desk' is up against the wall and my 'work desk' is by the window now. I really like this arrangement and it works better for both Mark and I.

So theres my week in a nutshell, I've been totally busy with The Beauty Closet more than anything else, new stock has arrived everyday and I also made a trip to HobbyCraft and spent the day making my own packaging!

Other than that, I've been going crazy about wanting to visit Disneyland Paris for my birthday too. Mark has agreed to take me (YAY!) so I've just been looking at deals for a 2 night/3 day break in March.

I'm still sat in bed at 11am and its a beautiful day outside. The only reason for this is because I've come down with a horrible cold and didn't even make it to work yesterday. New videos may be delayed but I'm sure everyone will understand.

I hope you all had/have a lovely week, I'm so proud I've written this and dedicated time on my blog this week! Let me know what you think.

The Beauty Closet: £5 Necklaces!

Recently, I've been making a few videos to show all the new stock I've been getting in at The Beauty Closet. But I don't want my youtube (or my blog!) to be all about my website because thats not what its about. But instead of continual videos, I thought a few posts with the pictures would be ok.

So anyway, here are five new necklaces I got in today. They are all only £5 each, really lovely quality and different designs. What do you think?

I've already had a great reaction to these, especially as I've upgraded the owl's and changed the bike's to thicker, more antique looking pendants.

Let me know what you think, which one is your favourite? I may even do a giveaway on here very soon!

Review: John Frieda Weather Works Style Sealant Creme

The Superdrug 'blue cross sale' never matches with Boots half price gifts, but I was strolling through the last lot of products they had left and found this for only 49p!? The 'John Frieda Frizz Ease Weather Works Hair Style Sealant Creme' (that was a mouthful!). Usually, I wouldn't touch any of the 'clearance' or 'reduced' section, but I was drawn to this Weather Works product. I cannot rave enough about John Frieda's 'Frizz-Ease' collection which I have about three or four products from, so decided to buy it. I mean, what have I got to loose at only 49p?

Product Features/Claims:
  • For all types of hair
  • Can be worked into dry or wet hair, no need to rinse out
  • Essential styling product for all day control and the smoothest of styles
  • Silky, luxurious creme formula provides incredible manageability and frizz control
  • Weather works regime to keep hair weather resistant
  • Contains a complex of polymers and silicones to smooth hair and maintain your style

Here's the TV Ad released in 2009:

I know this product is fairly old (hence the price!) but after only a few uses I have really noticed a difference.

I have very thick, curly hair, which just LOVES to go frizzy as soon as I step outside. I felt that this locked the curls and made them feel and look softer than when I use the moose. Plus, I've noticed a different with my split ends, it provides a really natural hold.

There aren't many reviews out there about this product, it definitely deserves more recognition and it would be great if John Frieda released it again.

  • Lives up to claims - locks curly hair and keep it from frizzing
  • Leaves hair feeling soft and natural looking
  • Helps split ends
  • Can use on wet or dry hair
  • Price!
  • Discontinued unless found in the last of the Superdrug Blue Cross sale or online
  • No lid on top when bought, was only sealed by twisting
I'm sorry if this review is no good as the product is now unavailable, but it gives you a feel of the products out there and I'm sure John Frieda have replaced it with a similar line to check out. I love this product, and am tempted to go back and find the last one they had left to stock up. You should definitely check the Superdrug Sale, although products like these are discontinued, there is nothing wrong with them!

Yankee Candle Bargain!

Since Christmas, I have been lusting over Yankee Candles. I managed to get my hands on a few Christmas Cookie samples and instantly fell in love. I also purchased two 'car jars' online which make my car smell amazing! But I had a mission. I wanted (and knew it was possible) to find a large jar for the price of a small jar in the sale before it ended. After endless visits to sites online, trips to TKMaxx, Homebase and other places people recommended to me, I was soon to give up. But it was mum who told me to try good old Cliton's Card (thanks mum!!), and when I spotted these two sat on the top self on their own in clearance, someone in my head sung 'HALLELUJAH!'

I only paid £7.99 each for these large jars! They only had Christmas Cookie left which was fine, because that's my favourite and personally, I don't think its that christmassy?

Yankee describe it as 'buttery rich, vanilla scented, holiday sugar cookies' mmmm, amazing! They roughly burn between 110 - 150 hours which is fantastic! The big ones give off more of scent too.

Anyway, I'm so happy with my bargain, I just had to share.
